Case Studies

Every project here started with a different question than the one the client came in asking.

How we work

Perspective before technology

The market is full of specialists. Excellent ventilation engineers. Expert heating consultants. Skilled lighting designers. Each one optimises their domain — and optimisation in isolation often creates conflict across the whole.

What is missing is not better individual systems. It is a perspective on how the building works as a whole, and what it would take to make its systems amplify each other rather than operate independently.

That perspective is what every project here started with. Not a product recommendation. Not a system proposal. A question: how does this asset actually work, and what is it costing you that you have not yet measured?

The answer to that question determines the sequence. The sequence determines the outcome.

Occupancy

The Upgrade

A commercial and industrial building the owner had decided to sell. Multiple rounds of investment, none of it working. One conversation changed how she saw the asset.

Energy sequencing

A Green Certificate Without Solar

A 1970s commercial and industrial asset. 30,000 kWh in year one, accepted as normal. 7,500 kWh by year four — a 74% reduction, no solar, no battery, and a green building certificate to show for it.

Operations

When Energy Work Opens Doors

A welding contractor called about energy costs. What the work delivered was access to supply chain contracts with large industrial buyers they had never been able to bid on before.

Capital sequencing

The Capital That Was Never Needed

A project that looked like it needed €530,000 in upfront capital. A different sequence of improvements made most of it unnecessary.

Systems thinking

When Adding More Is the Wrong Answer

A building being improved by adding. Every addition created a new problem. Removing three systems and rebalancing what remained turned a loss-making asset profitable.

Port operations

Port of Ystad

A port authority managing energy costs and grid constraints across a working commercial port. The same systems thinking applied at infrastructure scale.

Tenant relationships

From 55% to 99% Occupancy

Vacancy at 55% across a €35 million commercial and industrial portfolio. Not because the assets were wrong. Because the relationship between owner and tenant had narrowed to its minimum functional state.

Port operations

A Port Repair, 1.3% Above Budget

The world's largest shore power installation at the time, 170 concrete pillars, an 86,000 square metre expansion — and a final cost 1.3% above the original budget. The board had assumed there would be a second ask.

Maritime infrastructure

The same thinking at a different scale

The same principle — systems designed to work in harmony, not in isolation — applies across infrastructure at every scale. Our maritime projects show what that looks like when the asset is a vessel, a port, or a charging installation built for a 30-year service life.

A 1 MW ship charging solution designed around a DC system that eliminates conversion losses between generation and delivery. A fully electric ferry concept where systems thinking reduced the onboard battery requirement by 70% — not through better chemistry, but through a different question about what the system actually needed to do.
